Southern Blues

This is coming from a girl who's lived in Mississippi all her life.

I live in the South

Most of the people are dumb as hell

"Redneck" is not a compliment

But it's not like they could tell

I really hate the South

Everyone makes me want to gag

Boots, trucks, and camouflage

And those ugly confederate flags

Why did it have to be here

Why wasn't I born in a Northern city?

But no, my family stayed in this dump

In good 'ol Mississippi

I dream of a better place to live

The South is really no fun

Just a stupid place with stupid people

Men who can't be trusted with guns

Nothing here ever changed

They're still hateful; yes, it's true

But I will get out of this place

If it's the last thing I do
