The Fairer Sex

The Fairer Sex

A Poem by Arrianna
"

March is Women's Month.

"
We could change the world, if given the chance
Show them what we're made of: fight and dance
But we've been swept away for far too long
We are weak, they are strong

It shouldn't take so long to be treated the same
"Too emotional!" is what they exclaim
Such simple myths that discredit us all
It'll take more than that to make us fall

A silent shadow; do not say a word
Good wives are seen, but not heard
A pretty doll made of fine, white china
Fetch him a cigar, set up the recliner

The market plays on insecurity
Monthly pains receive no pity
It's nothing compared to what they have to do
They're asked of their work, not of their shoes

Today's times have a bit more appeal
Centuries of fantasy are becoming real
Let it be known that we're not finished yet
We won't stop until equality is met

Arrianna
I got inspired randomly. This turned out pretty well, in my opinion.
