The Trail They Call LoveA Poem by ArriannaLove is like a field full of landmines.
Tread lightly
It's dangerous out here On the verge of sinking It's not safe to be near Many venture into the forest None want to tell the tale A brutal, unforgiving mountain Countless tries 'till you prevail Sent out into the cold No wool to cover your skin A test of strength, they call it There's no sign of the war's end They say it's greener on the other side The sunshine is warmer, too But first, you must scale Everest Find the one that says, "I love you." We climb the stairs to heaven We ride the highway to hell He enjoys our endearing failure He chuckles, but wishes you well © 2016 ArriannaAuthor's Note
