If This is Goodbye

If This is Goodbye

A Story by AJay9979

Before you walk away to that dark shadowy place where you can let the voices in your head win, let me hug you goodbye. Give me a moment to slip my fingers between yours again and whisper in your ear how much I love you. Before you climb back in the ring with Goliath, let me sneak the slingshot in your back pocket, in case towards the end, you realize who you are and want to come home again. Before you make a mistake that you cannot take back, look me in my teary eyes and have the courage to tell me of your suicide mission, so I do not hear it from anyone else. Murmur your pleas to move on without you so you can hear my empty promise to try my best. Kiss me goodbye before you walk away just in case you never come back.
