A Dream

A Dream

A Poem by A Girl
"

A poem I wrote after I had a dream that triggered old memories.

"

Triggered by a dream

A memory that was buried so deep

A heeled wound opened

And salt was poured on it

The tears came rushing down

Running like a river at dawn

The sky turned grey

The sun hid away

Hands are starting to shake

Heartbeats starting to accelerate

My world is slowly falling apart

With me in it, crashing down

Pieces that were once put back together

Are falling back apart

A part of my life I wish to forget

A memory I hope to erase

A Heartbreak I pray to heel

Broken trusts, false hopes

All the pain came rushing back

Memories surfaced again

And it was all because of a dream
