"Here we are
Wet and exhausted
Unable to take the next step
The next step
Out in the sun
The dazzling sun
Promises us warmth and comfort."
How you managed to turn around the bearing of the poem from tragic to a path of redemption and hop was just amazing. You picked good words and this to me exudes reality and how life sometimes is synonymous with a winding path steeper at some places than others. Great poem and amazing read.
Wonderful! Many of us travel a path so covered in fog and shadows and horror, and to travel it with hope and faith of the sun is so utterly tiring that, even when we are not lost along the way, taking that one step into Light is the hardest challenge of all. After being so long in such a dark place, the light, the idea of a better life ahead of us, is almost scary. Sometimes we slip back into the shadows, following a circular path around what we really want but never approaching it. Sometimes we get a wee bit closer....and that is all. You have captured every single one of those conflicting emotions in two short stanzas. Wonderfully written, dear. :)
i like this poem. its short and sweet. yet holds a lot. where are they going? why are they going even if its raining? it has a lot of unanswered questions which make it very appealing.
I like this one a lot, a nice change from your usual work.
You really took this one on, a very strong poem!
I love the descriptions used, especially in the first stanza....
Rain crashing down...
So great!
I love it though, you get this dark gloomy picture than you can see the light! A comforting poem! Well done!
Could be taken in two ways. One, a leap of faith, and two, in the literal sense of stepping into the warmth of the sunlight on a chilly day in the shade. Nice poem!
