Trapped in my mindA Poem by A.D EdwardsJust something I wrote inspired by the way I feel
Withering away
Aimless we stumble Our hearts in our palms Backs bent over breaking Tossed and churned Rough housed and tussled We yearn to survive Clinging to our premature understanding It is pointless to fight We are but along for the ride Our journeys are our own But our destination is unknown Happiness is a luxury Bought by selling lies We lie to ourselves for peace of mind As our doubt's cast us into limbo What is my purpose? Why must I keep searching? To be the bane of my own existence? Searching for shadows in the dark As the world around me falls victim to its own demise Suffering itself to fates will Who is truly in control? Who truly knows what true control is? Can I persevere? Overcome? Dying to live when I'm just living to die? Is it all an illusion? Blinding us prey from seeing the one true predator Time... The true master of us all We are but mice in a maze Hoping we chose the right path Hoping... That hope is strong enough Hoping... That we can find our own way With someone if we're lucky... © 2015 A.D EdwardsReviews
