You but not Me

You but not Me

A Poem by Mercury

You with the scars
Don't you breathe like everyone else?
You walk the same path
Just with different directions
You with the shadow
Your heart beats a thousand times a day
A hundred thoughts through your head
And one name that always stays there
We are not angels
We just wear their disguise
We are demons hiding behind the lies
Just like robots trained to kill
We do it for the thrill You behind the mask who do you think your fooling?
Tell them all but the truth
Isn't that what we all do?
And don't we just want to be like everyone else?
We are not angels
We just wear their disguise
We are demons hiding behind the lies
Just like robots trained to kill
We do it for the thrill
You with tears streaming down your face
You with the light burning dim inside your eyes
You still have that fire breathing soul
You were born to live
So why? So why can't I try?
How come I try with you ...
But why can't I breathe?
Why does my heart not fly ....
Because I came here to die
