Dark Heart

Dark Heart

A Chapter by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

a poem inspired by H.P. Lovecraft

"

Ancient rituals rural Vermont

A performance seldom seen by natural eyes

Mysterious flames of ever changing color

Kept the naked images blurry

Celtic rhythms kept knotting time

While they yelled out honorary titles to a pre-human god

Vortexes of Chaos appeared in every direction

Shifting spiritual waltzes among the bare

Spreading the heart of Darkness

Hm... I sort of got a message of religion will become empty if its practices are hallow and have no mark of faith behind them, leaving nothing but darkness in even the most pious hearts. I found the fourth stanza the most vivid in terms of conveying a point and pure, poetic imagery. Well done.
