How can you Sleep?A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman BeyI wrote this a while back, inspired by John Lennon’s: How can you sleep? And like him I dedicate this to my own Paul McCartneyHow can you sleep? Among your piles of stolen objects How can you sleep? Knowing you have no dreams of your own How can you sleep? Fooling no one who has talent How can you sleep? Pretending you’re not a waste of time You took one decent photo when you were ten Now you’re acting like it meant something You claim you have an ear for music Yet two notes you can barely lick You can’t tell if you’re up or down Claiming to be a genius when you’re just a clown Hedonism got you messed in the head Its no wonder you were lame in bed You’re always out to impress A main street hooker is better dressed You try so hard to cover your insecurities and doubts Open your mouth only s**t falls out I can’t wait until you’re finally dead No one will be crying on your coffin lid This is so long, farewell Five years with you was a living hell © 2012 Abdul Batin Osman BeyAuthor's Note
