Green Fairy

Green Fairy

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

about being at T.T. Bar and Grill, Absinth.

"

She opened up my mind

Placed me out of time

Spun me on a dime

To the other world I’m not blind

Went down to TT’s

Felt a cool white breeze

Turned

Who did I see?

It was the green fairy

And I went dancing with the green fairy

You must pay ten fifty

To hold this little beauty

She’ll take you away from life’s boredom

Her inspiration will numb your tongue

There’s so much more to life than you were told in school

So much living than they want you to do

Look beyond people’s faces

Visit the in between places

Relax feel her embrace

Lean in toke and toast

Go dancing with the green fairy

Green fairy

Green fairy

Green fairy
