Burqa Back

Burqa Back

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

Inspired by the Noble Order of Moorish Sufis and Rafelt Pasha

"

Riding on the back of a burqa

Soaring to Makka

Flying high over Babylon

To my freedom

As I land seven angels greet me

Weigh my soul

Righteous I am allowed into the place of Allah

Naked women walk around bringing us mead

I and the other lovers of the Most High

We give thanksgiving sharing the blessings of the universe

Sacramental incense fills our senses

One as we have always been

We twirl round and round

Singing songs of redemption and salvation

The sun rises

Born again we bath in the eternal waters

Protected by angels we travel to Zion

We travel as we have always done, we are the Ben Ishmaels

We are the wondering Israelites

Bishops with no homeland but the ever-loving presence of Jah

On our arrival to the holy place of God seven angels greet us

Our souls tested again

Righteous we enter

Walk to the Eternal Temple

The body of the One God

Ourselves as well as the prophets

Again we dance and sing

Drinking mead being filled with the gifts of Yahweh

Bathing in the rivers of milk and honey

Naked women waiting on us bringing fresh manna

The moon rises

We enter the temple and behold the Ark of the Covenant

Then we are filled with the Holy Spirit

The One voice speaks to us in a language not yet born

Or a language long forgotten

As the moon reaches its height

The northern star shines brighter and we find ourselves back in mekka

Around the heart of Abraham we dance

We dance for six days

On the seventh day three angels come and teach us the true order of the universe

Like Enoch we are shown many wonders

In a flash I find myself alone

Back on the Burqa’s back

Taking the last of my sacrament

Soaring high over Babylon

Until I am placed back in my exile again

Filled with a new spirit I tell others

On the street corners of Sloan

Telling all about the great Abba Allah Jah

Allah Jah

Allah Jah

Chant the names of the only God and you shall be set free

Love the way you fused them together to tell the story. I myself was raised catholic w/emphasis on Pan-Africanism, and I have journeyed through many circles and schools of thought, so I dig the way you encompassed the variety in one with great conclusion ALLAH JAH!!!! It seems once you are unlocked from the shackles of the rituals and standards of religion and use the religions for the tools that they are ....It's gives the body a feeling that better than an ORGASM!!!
