Jeru-Zion

Jeru-Zion

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

about hurling towards death

"

Underneath my skin is a galaxy

Of steel wrapped in coal

Break down the ego within a rainbow

No quantum touch can heal you

Black clouds scatter the soul

Egypt is gone

Seven layers evaporate

Strange will has not failed you

All your life you have prepared for this

Memorized hand shakes with knotted lips

Cool down the steel

Crucifixion never felt so good

Sex only numbs the pain

All is one beyond the moon and the sun

What ends has just begun

Shift effortlessly

Atoms slow in a blink into eternity

Vibrate a new light

A gift, a disappointment

Under my skin

Is an accident waiting to happen

the poem abounds with scientific lexicon still it lacks that feel of a meretricious jargon pile. the first line was awesome.really unique.1st stanza is ethereal, but somehow i felt the flow gets a bit disrupted in the second one.third one complements the first and the ending was unexpected,to be honest.i mean your choice of words.can't say it felt perfect, but the brilliant theme triumphed it all.

egypt and seven layers-what do they signify??the zion part of the title eluded me as well.

In Rastafari and Moorish Science they use Egypt to represent the earthly world and I like that
