Spirit and Flesh

Spirit and Flesh

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

inspired by the Noble Order of Moorish Sufis

"

While the Christ ascended to heaven

Taking his seat next to the Father

Allowing the thief into Paradise

The human Jesus cried out: Why have you forsaking me?

Feeling only mortality

Empty

The black clouds rolled above his head

The man died

Earthquake

Rendering the cloth in the Holy Temple

Fulfilling the Torah

Pushing the universe forward

On the third day

Early morning

Christ united himself again with the human

God among us

Man saved us

Jesus awoke

Leaving the Tomb

Preaching the final touches of the Gospel

Christ in Jesus

God in Man

Ascended into Eternal Glory

It's truly beautiful! I like the way you have used the short verses, they give a lot of strength to the poem :)
