Tunnel OutA Poem by Abdul Batin Osman BeyA tribute to Marcus Garvey and those who woke upIt was the Blackman who gave I the Torah A Blackman who gave me the Bible It was the same Blackman who gave me the Quran He made his impressions deep in my mind He gave me what I thought I never could find So I give thanks to the Mighty I everyday God was the one who sent Marcus Garvey my way I was never a slave I always knew my identity But JAH sent the prophet to me The Holy Spirit come down and set me free A mallet on the head Hand reached out pulled me up from the grave I learned my lessons I learned my place Everyday I feel the blessings The truth no one can erase Until the day I die I’ll proclaim the Holy name I’m not alone many others are doing the same And I’ll be brought back to the place before my birth I’m not trying to get in the way I have to say what I have to say Let everyone embrace true humanity Understand we have only one destiny Stop playing king of the hill How many more babies must be killed? Justice and peace is what God wills Time for a reality check Return to the garden The New Flower is the place of Eden Those who resist make Satan their friend I invite all those who want salvation Come to Zion Mecca and change your vibration If everyone embraces reality We will finally end this childish fantasy Awake our minds with equality No more burden no more slavery The ancient days will return Together we will laugh and sing while Babylon burns Give thanks and praises to the Asiatic Moon God of Israel © 2012 Abdul Batin Osman Bey |
