Dubhe Light

Dubhe Light

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

Inspired by the star Alpha Ursae Majoris

"

A pale Indian tends his garden

He’s growing black hemp by the orange glow of Dubhe

Knowledge, wisdom, and freedom

These are the gifts of the red star

Take them

Illuminate the inner self

Leave behind the lower fantasy

Build your road and communicate

Cast your misfortunes inside the big dipper

Plant your dreams in the malted earth

Allow them to touch the chocolate sky

Be the Indian of your own black hemp garden
