Self Destruction

Self Destruction

A Poem by HopelesslyTragic

Rage bubbling to the surface,
Masked behind non genuine laughter,
And smiles twisted tight.
Stemming from internalized fears,
Unresolved traumas,
Promises broken.
Released only by the swinging of fists,
Raising of voices,
Aimed at the very ones we claim to love.
A self destructive hurricane,
Of misplaced emotions,
Put upon the unjustly blamed.
Debris showing in the form of,
Purple, yellow, green swirled bruises,
Raw throats, missing voices,
And tear stained cheeks.
Heavy with feelings of guilt and regret,
Looking every direction to find the source of the chaos,
Only to find,
It's you.

A tableau of misunderstanding set into motion. This almost seems like a family thing (familiar to most of us). A path to our own undoing maybe. Well done, raw and real.

At least you got that figured out now and it should be something easy to avoid. Your poems are filled to the brim with feelings and emotions. Nicely done

About
Getting back into writing for the first time in years, poetry seems to come easiest to me. I like the lack of pressure that comes from some poetry, that it doesn't necessarily have to be good and that.. more..
