God's Sunrise

God's Sunrise

A Poem by Let Me Write

Paitently awaiting the arrival of the sun,

Its rays like fingers curling up over the horizon.

The sky, a perfect gradient

The ground, a perfect canvas

A semi circle painted in hues of fiery gold,

Sprinkles light on the tops of houses and trees,

And whispers its daily morning greetings,

To the sleepy townsfolk of the village.

A pale fog has met the hilly terrain.

Beads of dew, wet each blade of grass.

With all of this in place,

The world paused, but only briefly,

So that I may catch a glimpse

Of God's sunrise.
