What shall be given back,

To replace what I have lost?

I never felt security

Everything was always snatched away

Slipped through my naïve fingers

I let it all fall, I confess to that

I wasn’t strong then

Until you touched my hand,

Held it tight

That moment when you

Wrapped your arms around me

I knew that there was so much more to me

Than just a girl who runs away.

Recompense…

What will they give back,

To replace what they took from me?

A very good poem. Quite romantic as well. I like the repetition of "Recompense". I assume the story will be about a girl wanting revenge on her superiors (parents?) for being domineering, and she falls in love with a dude whom she meets on her running away journey.
