End of the WarA Poem by Aianarie (INACTIVE)Inspired by the Civil War.So much blood has been spilt Upon these battered yet beautiful grounds Not just of body but of mind as well Countless ideals and ordeals Float in the wind with the dust Along with the age of courage and valor.
The sun rose behind a veil of dark cloud And smoke, and the air reeked of lives lost Even the strongest of men wept As they watched comrades and hopes fall The sun sets, and death red Mingled with sorrow's deep shadow.
When all had at last met the end All fell silent as sanctuary peace That and those remaining Held on to the faith almost forgotten They saluted the heavens And cried transient, final tears.
