AutumnA Poem by Aianarie (INACTIVE)Yay...new stuff. It's been awhile for me...The autumn has come upon us A chill creeps up on the earth And things begin to change The most contemplative of seasons Toys with our hearts and minds When we are stuck at the the end of a split pathway On a windy late afternoon Who knows where we are supposed to go? The whispers in the trees fill our ears with lies And memories only half-shattered by time Our hopes crash down--nay, float in the air Like leaves, gently to the ground The autumn reminds me of a day When it was me and only me, you and only you A day when things were so much simpler I could say "hi", and it meant nothing more A day when I was so hopelessly lost And yet, I always found my way home These things are invisible to me Until the summer reaches its end.
