Winter

Winter

A Poem by Aianarie (INACTIVE)
"

Ahem. 3 of 4 old, rhyming poems. lol

"

Late night and I can’t sleep

A desire for you my yearning heart will keep

You told me you’d come back, but it’s been too long

So I keep replaying our special song

To calm the ardent flames that burn

Then bitter cold takes its turn

I miss you, please come back to me

I need you here; don't you hear my plea?

Despite myself, I break down and cry

When I see our photo under the pillow where I lie

Of you and me, my transient past

Why couldn’t that beautiful moment last?

My love, I will be strong, because what else can I do?

I’ll sleep tonight, and dream of you

I’ll make it through this lonely winter

With the promise you made around my finger.

Mmm...I love poems about winter.
You waited until the end to let the reader know it's a husband/fiance that is being missed. Nice touch.
I like the rhymes too :D
ah....winter :)
