ReedStaying home can be a scary thing. Her parents left her home In a quiet house, all alone She got ready for bed And on her pillow, rested her head Until she heard a drip, drop And she wished for it to stop She reached to the edge of her bed To pet her faithful dogs head And he lick her hand The dark, for a moment, she could stand But then it got quicker Soon she grew sicker Reaching down again she felt the dogs tongue From her bed she sprung Rushing to the bathroom She sealed her doom In the shower, was her dog, hanging dead While his body bled And on the mirror She looked, as death grew nearer Were the simple words “Humans can lick too.”
