Humans can lick too

Staying home can be a scary thing.

Her parents left her home

In a quiet house, all alone

She got ready for bed

And on her pillow, rested her head

Until she heard a drip, drop

And she wished for it to stop

She reached to the edge of her bed

To pet her faithful dogs head

And he lick her hand

The dark, for a moment, she could stand

But then it got quicker

Soon she grew sicker

Reaching down again she felt the dogs tongue

From her bed she sprung

Rushing to the bathroom

She sealed her doom

In the shower, was her dog, hanging dead

While his body bled

And on the mirror

She looked, as death grew nearer

Were the simple words

“Humans can lick too.”

My first poem so please be nice. This is an Urban Legend but with a poetic twist. I have an OCD were my poems HAVE to rhyme, but you see I broke trend at the end (OH A RHYME!). Please review!

this is very cool. i knew the ending, because a friend of mine told me a story similar to this. as soon as i could sense the panic that you created for this woman i knew where this was going; that is no the important part though. what made this write amazing is how it got there. this is a very very good poem. it gave me the chills!!! beautifully done!
