Social SuicideA Poem by Adam LainDeath to predetermined thoughts...Emotional hipster folly, should I stay casual, play into the normal cliche pocket? Ambitions belayed within, a young cantankerous me, fold in society or leave it a vinegar and water blend? A mixture of cultures, a melting pot of ancestry, meaning I have no real background, nothing to force me into a category so stereotypical it distills my soul of color But today will be the day of days; a slaying of normality, the suicide of my inner "society" slit veins of general carbon copies leaving drained perceptions of past me's You see, the folly of the world was letting me be me I am the death of mainstream, the beginning of individuality
