Prisoners Of War;

Prisoners Of War;

A Poem by C.

I’ve been talking to myself

For much, much too long

Can’t be good for my health

But, I still sing this song

I’m weak, can’t you see

I’m alone; I want to be

‘Cause in life, there’s nobody

To save you from the debris

To give you an apology

The promises are real

But, the pain is all you feel

And the wounds will never heel

Your hurt you must conceal

I’m weak, can’t you see

I’m alone; I want to be

‘Cause in life, there’s nobody

To save you from the debris

To give you an apology

We’re making war,

Instead of love

We’re making war,

Instead of love

We’re making war,

Instead of love

We’re prisoners of war

And lovers of the pain

‘Cause when we hear the roar

We do not feel the shame

(We’re prisoners of war

Prisoners of pain)

I am weak and can’t you see

I am alone; I want to be

(We’re prisoners of war,

Prisoners of pain)

Because in life, there’s nobody

To save you from all the debris

We’re prisoners of war

And don’t deserve apology

We’re prisoners of war

We’re making war,

Instead of love

(We’re prisoners of war)

We’re making war,

Instead of love

(We’re prisoners of pain)

We’re making war,

Instead of love

(We’re prisoners of war

Prisoners of pain

Prisoners of war

Prisoners of pain)
