Your lies were the disguise.

Your lies were the disguise.

A Poem by C.

You took away the pain

But then you created a new one

And the urge to stab my heart out

Just grew stronger with each day

After all this time

After all the hurt and lies

After all the times you’ve scarred me

Why do I still love you?

I don’t even understand it

But my heart just can’t let go

It makes me hate myself

More than I already do

I used to love myself

All thanks to you

But now I can’t see

Anything good about me

After all you left me for her

Someone better than me

So how could I believe

I am everything you want me to be?

I am nothing in your eyes

All your lies were just the disguise

Did you always mean to do this?

To make me feel like nothing?

Cause it seems that’s all you wanted

Even though you said you loved me
