Cages

Cages

A Poem by A. E. Cox
"

Yet another written at 14.

"
Your trapped in a cage
some people call life.
With no way to escape
except with a knife.
Bars all around you
like sorrow and fear.
Nothing can cut them down
not even a tear.
This cage is full of darkness
only pain and despair.
All hope is gone.
You just sit and you stare.
Maybe someday soon
some light will come
yet no one knows
who it comes from.
Until that time
you just sit and you wait.
Some light will come
and keep you awake.
