Beauty and Popularity

Beauty and Popularity

A Poem by Kaitlin W. Blaylock
"

This song is about a social outcast finally realizing and telling the truth to a, so-called, "popular" kid. In middle school, I was the outcast, and I did tell off the in-crowd...I was so sick of their crap.

"

I may not be beautiful
And I may not be what you call spectacular
But I know who I am inside
And I know where I'm going in life
That's more than you can say
You're too caught up (in) playing games
You don't see me
I ain't worth your time
I don't need your superficiality
I don't need your circle (of friends)
One day, the tables will be turned
Don't come to me when you're burned
Someday, I might be a has-been
But I won't be the one
Who never moves away
(No) I won't be the one you'll find on the street
One Day
