Hippocrites

Hippocrites

A Poem by Kaitlin W. Blaylock
"

This is a song, but it has no structural form as my other writings. It attacks societies view of couples and is very true and pertinent to a lot of people I know personally, and is designed to connect with almost everyone on a personal level.

"
Spoken:  They say the only way to know someone is to live with them. Then they look down on a couple living together who aren't married or engaged. I ask you, who are they to judge?
Sing:      Be yourself
Show you're true colors
Don't let others bring you down
You are you, and I am me
It's the way of the world
Others are jealous
Others are cruel
But I'm right here
Who cares what they think?
I love the way we are...why change?
Who are we trying to please?
I love our place, don't you?
It's our own space
The one place where we can be free
Away from company
No one to tell us no
No one to say where to go
Just me and you
