Childhood

Childhood

A Poem by Austin
"

I've been thinking about this lately. What happens when leggos aren't fun any more? What happens when you stop playing with toys? What happens... when you grow up.

"

As I grow older, the world becomes dimmer.

The once radiant light of a child's mind has faded.

I cling to any remnants of those times with desperate hands

Because when I am too old to remember,

I will have truely died.

Adults are so consumed by the worries in life,

And it is life that forces them to become that way.

None of us can escape that fate

So hold on with all your strength to childhood.

When we have to venture away from our homes,

When we have to get jobs to support ourselves,

When life forces us to grow up...

It will be too late to go back.

My favorite part was the description of the poem. Such deep thoughts.
Great piece! :)

Such a lot of thought in such a short poem. :)
