Exit Door

Exit Door

A Poem by Austin

A blazing fire!

Where do I turn?

To the exit door

So rectangular, so inviting

With its red, neon lighted sign.

I love you exit door

With all of those screaming people

Running through you in such haste.

The smell of smoke and burning flesh

Filling my nostrils so utterly.

Wait! What is this?

Exit door, you have turned on me

Like a hated enemy!

While admiring your breathtaking perfection,

I have burned...
