The one perfect weekend

The one perfect weekend

A Poem by Andrew Hawkins

The early flight
the airport kiss
the early night
the total bliss

The apartment tour
the closet clinch
the bedroom mirror
watching every inch

The walk in the park
the sushi bar
the black high heels
the red sports car

Dinner with James
wine with Bev
If I'd seen the future
I would never have left

And all too soon
our time was over
like the perfect weekend
spent in Kelowna
