Never Alone

Never Alone

A Poem by Luke Sampson

First kiss of death-

The death of your best friend.

Someone you’ve trusted,

Someone you’ve known.

Someone you could talk to

And never feel alone-

My best friend-

The one I always trusted.

Someone who was there,

Someone who I knew would care.

Someone who I spoke to

And never felt alone-

He knew about my life-

The life he was part of.

Someone I knew,

Someone I looked up to.

Someone I listened to

And never was alone-

He was my friend-

He had his family.

He is my friend,

He has his family,

He has his friends-

And never will we not think of that day when we were all left alone.

(Dedicated to my late friend Marc Vincent De Souza " 16 January 1990 to 11 April 2007 - his friends and his loving family)

Author's Note

Luke Sampson
I wrote this when I was in the 11th grade. Back then poetry was my only form of expression. So this is my most raw, and unrefined piece of writing that I could find. Enjoy =]

I love these, as you say, "raw" nuggets of our past. I've found several of these and have decided to refine them into more of a product. I decided to do it mostly because I hate reading a lot of my old writing. Ha.
