Lovely Girl

Lovely Girl

A Poem by Megan
"

Something I wrote a few years ago about a friend of mine

"
She always looks like she's been crying
And no one can seem to figure out why
Such sad eyes on such a lovely girl
I see those eyes in the mirror staring at me

Maybe if you'd look closer you'd see her maps
She drew them all over her soft skin
She hoped they would keep her form getting lost again
But all her lovely lines have over lapped

She lives in a dream

She can stand out in the middle of a crowd
Even with her head hung down
The words she sings when no one's around
Make her more than what we think

Poor gem, all her white chess pieces
Have been stolen by cruel little boys
They throw them on the dirty ground
And laugh while she tries to clean them

She lives in a dream

She can stand out in the middle of a crowd
Even with her head hung down
The words she sings when no one's around
Make her more than what we think
