As words fly round the room and you pretend...

As words fly round the room and you pretend...

A Poem by Firestone Feinberg

As words fly round the room and you pretend...

As words fly round the room and you pretend
To see them although you know you really don't --
And dreams encircle the Invisible --
And old ideas arise from Nowhere to
Remind you that others Are -- and you look
For a clue to enlighten you -- but all there
Is is darkness -- darkness you can almost
Feel... you do remember Something -- vaguely.

It seems about a thousand years ago that
You learned all about the important things --
The things that mean Something -- even in a
World that has gotten lost...  And what you came
To understand is that there Is more and even
When it is forgotten it Is.  Still.  Here.

Those words, memories never fade, they might be the one's spoken in the past, but they leave an indelible mark. Well said Dave.

Hope you're keeping warm. This is one winter I don't mind missing.
wow this was almost too hard for me to read...dealing with my dad's memory lapses now..and my mom's---in their 90's things get confused...

same questions over and over...what there was will always exist, but the memories of it are just shadows...

even ten minutes ago...
