A kind of wisdom settles in --

A kind of wisdom settles in --

A Poem by Firestone Feinberg

A kind of wisdom settles in --
Something comfortable and warm
As old age approaches and we begin
To see that time is not the storm

We thought it was when were young --
But -- instead -- time is a good friend
Who has steadied the years one by one
And now readies us for the end.

I like wisdom being 'something comforable and warm'. Also the concept of time steadying the years. Actually I think it is quite nice getting old. Loved your poem.

Yes, you lose a lot of the angst of younger years
Not many can interpret things in such a way. Thanks for sharing this one.
