LOUSY SONNET  No. 1

Well I decided to use the old magic

Formula that is the sonnet at least

In that this poem will have fourteen

Lines instead of my usual eighteen

Lines in the hope that the visual format

Will draw more customers than the other

But I am afraid that it won't for a 

Number of reasons such as the poems I 

Write in this style are totally boring 

To everyone but myself for one and

Another reason is that I just have such

Bad karma that I call it 'krapma' so

Anyhow I'm not really counting syllables but

I'm counting lines and this is the fourteenth.

D...self-critique like this isn't needed. In fact, it's like you're asking people to disagree with you. Anyway, I wish I knew more about this form...14 lines but I thought it included a particular rhyme scheme. Obviously, I could be wrong about this. Take care...bobc

I wrote the poem honestly, without ulterior motive. Considering the lack of response (not by you, but in general, to my poems in this fashion) I can only draw some realistic conclusions. Nevertheless, this poetry is who I am and I submit it as it comes to me. Yes, sonnets do have various rhyme schemes depending upon type; they are usually in iambic pentameter, and, classically, have to do with love. I am using the term 'sonnet' very loosely here -- I did not count syllables or consider feet, I did not use rhyme, but I did adhere to the 14-line tradition.
