Here's to the farmer...A Poem by Firestone Feinbergb”h Aug 2013 Here's to the farmer who wakes before dawn And feeds to his chickens their breakfast of corn -- And here's to the cobbler who takes an old shoe To sew it and mend it and make it like new -- Here's to the tailor who stitches and sews -- And here's to the merchant who markets the clothes -- The barber, the builder, the brave and the bold, The soldier, the sailor, the sensitive-souled. The doctor, the teacher, the nurse, and the nun -- The pilot, the preacher, the daughter, the son -- The mother, the father, the uncle, the aunt -- The one who can cope and the one who just can't. Here's to the other, and here's to the friend, Here's to beginning and middle and end. Here's to the elderly, here's to the youth, Here's to prosperity -- love -- and -- truth.
