Well I deleted most or all of the poems that

I wrote in what I call my 'Holden Caulfield

Voice.'  I guess I was near the end of a relatively

Minor manic phase and when I get to that place

I can delete everything -- including myself.  

But I somehow managed to leave most of myself

intact...  Well like I said, it was a

Relatively minor phase that actually began

At the time I wrote all those non-stop verses

In the first place.  And well if you know a

Bit about bi-polar illness, then you know that

The manic phases are often characterized by what

They call 'flight of ideas,' and then when you

Return to earth you're kind of embarrassed by

Some of the things you did and said when you

Were flying.  So you try to hide the evidence

By deleting those embarrassing things.  And 

Then you might feel better for a couple of hours.

David, I find your flight of ideas quite engaging and real, good poetry. But then, I have a tendency to delete evidence of myself (or aspects of myself) from time to time, too. Glad it's not just me, ha.

the holden caulfield reference reminded me of one of my favorite phrases ever put into a novel...when holden is talking about "my for chrissakes sister"

such a good adjective!

The nice thing about super rich arrogant jerk people is, after they are dead, they leave behind a lot of nice architecture. Down to earth nice green people, are those things, but when they are dead, they don't leave much of a show. If you really deleted your work, you should not do that. When you are dead, it would be nice to have something in this world worth noticing. I have an endless supply of deleted people already. They are not much to look at.

D...you know I like this voice of yours. Some poetry is exactly 'a flight of ideas'. Your poems in this style have the added benefit of being accessible. (I've read other 'flights', and wrote a few myself, I suppose...found them intriguing but opaque and impenetrable.) Thanx...bobc

Sounds like my big sister...she always doing this and does not notice it...but everyone else does...to her its normal...and then again its not...but we tend to ignore the fact and treat its as if it was normal...because you just get use to it...and cope with her illness...
