The feelings of the farmerA Poem by Firestone Feinbergb"h 27 Aug 2013 The feelings of the farmer are Not considered. The blankness Of the cobbler's face ignored. The baker and the builder are Unimportant. And it doesn't Care. And it never did. And it Never will. It remains there -- Tho' -- as if waiting for something: The embarrassment of ignorance. The Failure in the eyes. The hurt heart. And these it tastes and rolls Around in its smug mouth -- cheering Its own bloatedness, its arrogance, Its thrill at punishing the poor of Brilliant thinking. It relishes the Chance to expose its selfishness At the expense of the simple soul Of the simple man. This is poetry.
