I don't know what to say to you

I don't know what to say to you

A Poem by Firestone Feinberg

I don't know what to say to you
To help you comprehend this thing --
Nor can I tell you what to do
To stop it from occurring --

We have -- sometimes -- experience --
Too strange to understand --
We feel as if we've lost all sense --
Control is out-of-hand.

Then what to do with moments so --
Should keep them to ourself?
The choice is ours -- procure them --
Or leave them on the shelf.

sometimes life just puzzles us...we get in situations and just don't know what to do...we can bounce them off of friends but often they can't really counsel us...they can listen...but we eventually have to listen to ourselves...and figure out which way to go.

D...good to hear from you again. That first line in the last stanza feels unfinished.

But in answer to the question posed in the second line of that stanza...no, don't keep them to yourself. (And I do mean yourself here. Ourself doesn't feel right here.) As you pointed out, the choice is yours of course. (And I do mean yours...not ours.) If you take the plunge, I think you might find that when you share whatever the moment is...a something precious and tender and vulnerable...a lot of us are out there who might say, 'Yes..., yes, I've felt like that too!'

in short, we are not alone...bobc

Interesting poem and form. I am not quite sure what you are trying to say here? the message??
Time is a precious thing and there is always too little of it. Too many that waste it. The message is maybe to not take anything for granted and to live every moment or we lose them?...
"procure them -- This one made me read several times and really think.. shallimarRose
Or leave them on the shelf.
