Have an hour with me...A Poem by Firestone Feinbergb"h July 28, 2013 "Have an hour with me," said she, "and we will Roam along the river and seek the antelope and We will know the daisy." "But," I said, "I cannot go With you now -- for I have much work to do." So she turned away from me and she started To hum a tune, a strange tune, as if from another Land as far away as the moon. And I wanted to Speak, but I had no voice... I put down my pen and Moved my ink-well to the edge of the table. And She said, "Take you a leaf of well-made paper." And I Did. And she said, " Arise from your chair and go to The window." And I did. And I looked out and saw the River and the field and the antelope. And I listened to The soft serenade she sang. And then I spoke -- saying: "What, please to tell me... what is the tune you sing? from What distant land is it come?" And she turned around and I beheld her. And she was as a spirit -- of silver and pearl. And -- she was gone... And upon the paper -- these words.
