Come Here and Touch the Green Green

Come Here and Touch the Green Green

A Poem by Firestone Feinberg
"

A poem to my darling new grandson, Lucas. It's somewhat of an introduction to the world -- tempered with the wonder of a child's perception. The rain is the cleansing, healing, rain...but...

Come here and touch the green green
Grass. Come here and look up at the sky.
Come here and see the stars and the
Moon and the sun and the clouds -- and
Stand in the fields of golden grain and
Run down the hills and climb the
Mountains and swim swim swim in the sea.
Come here and know that this is yours
To behold and to love. Fear not the
Wars and the pain. Neither fear the
Cold cold wind.  But come here, my child.
Come here and feel the rain.

I felt something very Latin, if not Roman in these worlds. A new son of the House demands nothing more than the Love of The Gods.

Thank you for reading and reviewing the poem. Your view is fascinating. I appreciate it. --David
I guess if we can instill a sense of wonder in the children in our lives we have done them a great service. Yes, the world can be hard, and many find that out through those who are meant to shelter, but then there are those who are lucky enough to have their eyes opened (early) to the beauty that is inherent. It is a blessing for a child to have a caring, sensitive guide to show them the grace of life. This was a joy to read, does a heart good.
