Inspiration is a strange guest --

She comes -- uninvited --

If you ask her to visit --

She’s always too busy.

When she appears at your door --

She brings no guarantees --

You must take her on her own terms --

Or she’ll turn around and leave.

i feel inclined to write a sequel to this along the lines of "she is also a fickle little b***h, but boy oh boy can she be fun!" i think i dated this lady a few times (or, possibly, all my life) well said and brilliantly penned!
