NO COW

NO COW is wont to moo for you,

Forsooth, I asked one to to-day,

"O Cow," said I, "wouldst thou to moo?"

To my dismay she said but "Nay."

How now brown cow? The deliberate use of anachronistic language underscores the nonsense of talking to a non-existent animal. I think the conversation could continue with the exchanges between speaker and No Cow becoming more and more preposterous. I enjoyed it. While the four lines feel fragmentary, they are fun.

I congradulate you on writing like this. Not many would. When I first saw the title, I thought,"Hmmm. This might be like that poster in history class." The poster in question reminds us of government. "Fascist- the government takes the cows and shoots the owner." So glad this wasn't the topic. You should write more. I would definitely read them.
