The Spirit Sometimes Tires

The Spirit Sometimes Tires

A Poem by Firestone Feinberg

The spirit sometimes tires
Of holding up her flag;
Her eyelids barely open -- droop --
Her arms -- exhausted -- drag.

And no one comes to comfort her
Nor hear her weary sigh --
Herself she must awaken -- then --
Her banner so to fly.
