She has to let go

She has to let go

A Poem by EternoSol
"

A woman waits for her lover to finally commit to her after years of struggle to eventually find out that he has been cheating on her all along...

"
The veiled moon's glow
A silent shadow
A shrivelled heap lay below
She has to let go

An untrue vow
No more, no more
She can not cope
She has to let go

Buried dreams
And haunted memories
It's dead, that hope
She has to let go

Some incomplete songs
And innumerable wrongs
A preserved rose
She has to let go

The heavy ring on her finger
The kisses that linger
No love anymore
She has to let go

Shredded photos
A torn diary's pages
The broken glass of the window
She has to let go

A continuous sacrifice
Returned with a favour of lies
The heart gone sore
She has to let go

It's faded with time
With decisions not made right
It was all different before
She has to let go
