Heart of SilverA Poem by Poe Met Emily
I accidentally overheard my heart talking to my mind.
She said she was losing herself in the race against time. I shut the door and closed the shades Wondering where my thoughts really go when they fade. Sweet words trickle in and out when she's screaming, But my mind isn't satisfied, circling for the meaning. I start pacing to a wild beat, Shaking my head, laid over in defeat. I try not think this to end again, Where it all slips into comatose, a sudden bend. Losing, fighting, she's so loud in her conflicts, her flights. It's almost deafening, unending like the night. To my knees, she's got me pinned, Asking the same questions all over again. Is there more to this scar tissue I can't undo? Confused and alone; I want to always love you. What will become of me if I'm left in fragments, Unhinged and dancing through endangerment? She should have been quiet and sheltered away. And I should have said what I meant to say.
