More Than Just a Glance

More Than Just a Glance

A Poem by Poe Met Emily

I'm not happy.
It's that simple,
or so it seems.
I keep my eyes open wide,
hoping to catch a sight
of what happiness may be,
if in this labyrinth of mind
I could figure out what ends meet.
Here, in this playing field,
connections break and reignite
in odd patterns and complex wiring.
I am ill, though I don't show it.
I am all that my past created,
struggling to recreate myself
outside of the mold.
I'm more than unhappy.
