Lingering.

Lingering.

A Poem by Poe Met Emily

Then it becomes more apparent what you mean
and without words, I try to explain what I want to be.
Lying awake, these thoughts that keep me up all night,
I toss around the thought, the dreams to be by your side.
Somehow I cannot grasp you, your immense beauty.
Eyes that I drown in, a smile I want to wear too,
a heart I long to cover in kisses so gentle and passionate.
Then it starts to hurt, the love I feel.
I wonder if it's suppose to seem this elevated, this real.

Do you think we can overcome anything,
even our flaws that haunt my every pen stroke,
your flaws that cling to your veins?
Frightful, I got to keep moving before I get knocked down.
Once again, it smothers me in who you are.
I hope your love always finds me in those dark moments.
Before I saw it, I knew it was yours.
Now that I am yours, I have lost touch with the ground.
Do you ever feel like you're flying around me...?
